Vaishnavi Radhakrishnan
Research Assistant & Counselling Psychologist
Hi, I’m Vaishnavi! I’m a Counselling Psychologist with an M.Sc. in Psychological Counselling and currently working as a Research Assistant at SCARF (India). I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in both counselling and research settings.
My passion lies in supporting adolescents and young adults, not just because they’re at such a critical stage of development, but also because I feel deeply connected with their world and challenges. Much of my work revolves around youth mental health, with a special interest in gender disparities and the unique psychosocial issues young people face. I believe counselling is not about giving solutions but about walking alongside clients being with them through their journey, side by side.
In research, I focus on the mental health of college students and adolescents in schools and communities, aiming to design interventions that are both meaningful and practical. My long-term goal is to bring evidence-based mental health support into schools, making care more accessible for young people where they need it most.
Outside of work, you’ll probably find me watching movies or series, painting, trekking, or exploring new cuisines, things that keep me curious and grounded, and also give me stories to share with the young people I work with.
