Psychiatric Social Worker | Research Assistant

Hi, I’m Thariq — a psychiatric social worker and currently working as a research assistant in the Youth Mental Health Department.

My journey into mental health and research began with a simple but powerful thought: research can truly change lives. It’s incredible how the right study, the right insight, or the right intervention can bring about positive changes—not just for one person, but for entire communities. That’s what motivates me every day. I believe that when research is done with heart and purpose, it has the power to make a real difference in the world.
In my role, I work closely with young people, supporting their mental health and well-being. It’s not just about statistics or papers—it’s about understanding real human experiences, listening deeply, and turning that understanding into action. Every interaction, every session, and every project is a step toward building stronger, healthier futures for young minds.Outside of work, I’m passionate about maintaining both mental and physical well-being. I make time for regular workouts and meditation , not just to stay fit, but to stay focused and balanced. These practices help me recharge and stay aligned with the values.
True resilience isn’t about facing everything alone—it’s about having the courage to seek help when needed. Strength begins the moment you reach out and say, ‘I deserve support too.’”
