Pavithra
Psychiatrist and Researcher
Hi, I’m Pavithra!
I’m a psychiatrist and researcher with the Department of Youth Mental Health. I trained in youth mental health under the RANZCP Specialist Training Program and am a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
I’m passionate about working with young people—whether it’s through promotion, prevention, or care—and believe in creating mental health–friendly environments that help them thrive. My work spans both the individual and systems level, because meaningful change happens in personal stories as well as in the bigger picture.
I also love bringing art and culture into the way we think about wellbeing. Outside of work, I enjoy beaches, water activities, and spending time with animals. You’ll often find me singing (I’m trained in South Indian classical music ), playing board games, or picking up new languages. I already speak quite a few Indian languages—and I’m always up for adding more to the list!
