rYMs: Resource Centre for Youth Mental Health by SCARF
rYMs (pronounced “rhymes”) is a dedicated safe space created by SCARF for young people aged 15 to 24 years. Unlike clinical settings, rYMs is a non-clinical, youth-led environment designed to foster connection, support, and empowerment. It provides a welcoming space where young people can express themselves freely, build supportive networks, and engage in meaningful activities. All programs and initiatives at rYMs are designed and delivered by young people, ensuring that the space truly reflects their needs, voices, and experiences. Through this unique model, rYMs aims to promote mental health, reduce stigma, and build a strong community of peer support.
Advocacy
We actively engage with policymakers, state department officials, and other key stakeholders to strengthen the mental health ecosystem for young people. Our advocacy efforts focus on influencing policies and programs to integrate youth mental health promotion, prevention, and early intervention into existing health and social systems. By sharing evidence, building partnerships, and co-creating strategies, we work toward implementing scalable, sustainable, and youth-centered interventions at the state level to ensure better access and improved outcomes for young people.
Community engagement
We believe that youth mental health begins in the community. Through targeted outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and community partnerships, we aim to create safe, informed, and supportive environments for young people. Our team works closely with schools, colleges, self-help groups, and local organizations to build awareness, reduce stigma, and promote early help-seeking, ensuring that young people and their families can access mental health support when they need it most.
